DIY: Fall Yarn & Twig Wreath

wreath finished DIY: Fall Yarn & Twig Wreath
Hello friends!.. Kelly here. I wanted to share some more Autumnal goodness with this weeks DIY project, my Yarn & Twig ‘Welcome’ Wreath!
It’s quite easy to put together and great for crafters, because you probably have most of the materials already available.

:: First, pin the beginning of your yarn into the back of your wreath. I also placed a dollop of glue underneath the first inch of yarn for an extra sturdy hold.
:: Start wrapping your yarn tightly around & around & around the wreath.. until it’s entirely covered. I did a two-toned thing with my fall colored yarn. Once you make it all the way around, use more sewing pins and glue to hold the end of the yarn in place. Let dry.
:: I scavenged my yard for some nicely shaped twigs. Wrap your twigs with the yarn of your choice, tying off at the beginning and end.

:: Next, decide where you want your twigs to go. Place a small dollop of glue underneath your twigs and attach to your wreath, using the pins to hold them in place. Once dry, remove the sewing pins.
:: Do the same step with the rest of your accessories. I added buttons and pom-poms, but you could use pine cones.. rosettes.. yo-yo’s.. the possibilities are truly endless!
:: Finally, I drew and cut out this little ‘welcome’ sign from cardstock. This step is optional, it really just adds that extra bit of hospitality to your wreath. I used heavy duty thread to string through the edges of the sign and tie around the sides of the wreath.
